Which place or country is at the center of world?

Sao Tome and Principe is an island nation located in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western coast of Africa, close to the equator. Nicknamed the"centre of the world",it is the closest landmass to the point in the Atlantic where the imaginary line of the equator crosses the zero meridian.

Determining the precise center of the world is a complex task and largely depends on the criteria used for measurement. Various methods exist for calculating the center of the world, and different results can be obtained based on these methods. Here are a few different approaches:

1. Geographic Center:
   - Geographically, the center of the world can be calculated as the geographic centroid of the Earth's landmasses. This calculation takes into account the distribution of landmasses across the globe.
   - One commonly used method for determining the geographic center is based on a mathematical calculation known as the centroid or center of gravity. This involves finding the balance point of the Earth's landmasses by considering their shapes and distribution.
   - Using this method, researchers have determined that the geographic center of the world lies in a region near the border between China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Russia. Specifically, this point is located in the Xinjiang region of China, not far from Ürümqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

2. Population Center:
   - Another approach to identifying the center of the world is to consider the center of population density. This involves calculating the average location of the Earth's human population, taking into account factors such as population distribution and density.
   - The population center of the world shifts over time as populations grow and migrate. Currently, it is estimated to be located in South Asia, specifically in the region of Uttar Pradesh, India.
   - However, it's essential to note that the population center does not necessarily coincide with the geographic center of landmasses.

3. Economic Center:
   - The economic center of the world can be determined based on factors such as trade, investment, and economic activity. This often corresponds to major financial centers and hubs of commerce.
   - Historically, cities such as London, New York, and Tokyo have been considered significant economic centers. However, as globalization has progressed, other cities in emerging economies have gained prominence.
   - Currently, some analysts consider cities like Shanghai, Beijing, or New York to be at or near the economic center of the world, depending on the specific criteria used for measurement.

Overall, the concept of the "center of the world" is subjective and can be defined in various ways. While geographic, population, and economic centers provide different perspectives, there isn't a single definitive location that can be universally agreed upon as the center of the world. Each method of calculation yields its own result, and the choice of method depends on the context and purpose of the analysis.
